Wim Hof Method Fundamental Course

 

The Wim Hof Method (WHM) is a simple way to connect deeper with your body and mind. It consists of 3 components: Breathing, Mindset and Cold exposure

In this course, you will learn the basics of the Wim Hof Method, so that you can safely continue practicing at home. The course is both suited for complete beginners and for people with some experience that want to deepen their practice of the WHM.

We will playfully explore body & mind and mindfully approach different forms of challenges. If necessary challenges can be adapted to make them more or less challenging (depending on your level).

– Other forms of breathing exercises
– Different forms of cold exposure
– The theory of the Wim Hof Method
– Movement exercises
– How to practice the WHM safely at home
– Mindset
– Ways of learning to feel and listen to your body

About your teacher:
Douwe van den Berg discovered his love for cold water in 2010 in China when only cold water was available during his months-long Kungfu training. He loved the challenge and the invigorating feeling after cold exposure. Soon, he began taking people along wherever he found cold water, from the beaches of the Netherlands to the Arctic regions of Finland. By now, he has guided thousands of people from many different countries.

Through his love for cold water, Douwe also came into contact with the “Iceman” Wim Hof in 2012 and became one of the first Wim Hof Method instructors in 2015. Douwe accompanied Wim Hof on many adventures and trained over 500 new trainers for the Wim Hof Method between 2017 and 2023. Apart from that he has been teaching his own retreats and workshops throughout Europe. Douwe loves to share different ways of connecting to yourself, other people and nature.

For who is the course?
This course is suited both for complete beginners and people that already have a bit of experience with the Wim Hof Method. In the case of health issues, please check with your doctor if you can participate.

Preparation:

The course will include serving of warm lunch, fruit tea and coffee.

Audun Myskja and Julian Gunkel will be there during the course to support and answer questions.

Advanced Course in the Wim Hof Method

 

This course is for those who are already experienced with the Wim Hof Method. You are comfortable with taking ice baths and are familiar with the WHM breathing.

This course is a mixture of retreat, adventure and workshop. Because everybody is already familiar with the basics, it allows us to go much deeper into the breathing and cold exposure. The focus is on learning by experiencing. It will be both playful as challenging.

There will be possibilities for different kinds of challenges in the cold, including walking on Totenåsen nature with minimal clothing on.

In the course, you will receive:

• Different variations of the breathing techniques of the Wim Hof Method
• Mindset – work on focus and attitudes
• Physical exercises to increase body awareness
• Relaxation and meditation
• Different icebath challenges
• Hiking in shorts!

For who is the course?
This course is suited both for complete beginners and people that are already experienced with the breathing and cold exposure of the Wim Hof Method. It is already possible to take an icebath and you are familiar with the WHM breathing.

Preparation for the advanced course:

– Continue your practice of cold showers and icebaths
– Start a morning or evening ritual. It can be small (like 2 minutes of mindfulness). If you already have a morning and/or evening ritual, great! Keep it up.

The course can be quit intensive, so if possible do not plan any work during the time of the course (and preferably also leave some time afterwards to integrate).
